The budget proposal to increase funding for ICE and mass deportation operations is deeply concerning. Recent reports have revealed numerous incidents of immigrants being unlawfully detained by ICE without due process or valid cause, violating their constitutional rights. Instead of enabling such violations, we should be holding ICE accountable and working to uphold the civil liberties enshrined in our nation's founding principles. I urge you to reject any budget that expands resources for these unethical and unconstitutional practices. Our government must prioritize protecting the rights of all people, not infringing upon them through overreaching enforcement measures. A vote against increased ICE funding would be a stand for justice and adherence to the rule of law.
