Open Congressional Investigation into Competency of the Current President

To: Sen. Kelly, Sen. Gallego, Rep. Hamadeh

July 10

Amid the current president’s erratic, lawless, and bizarre behavior, this is a misguided time to be reviewing past presidential doctor’s assessments in congressional hearings. President Trump has repeatedly advanced, then retracted, then advanced again tariffs that upset the international trade system with no benefit to the United States and with broad economists’ agreement that these actions harm our interests. Trump has provoked international incidents by threatening sovereign nations with usurpation in Canada and Greenland, and is now strong arming Brazil over its sovereign courts, while spouting nonsense about a trade deficit with Brazil when we in fact have a trade SURPLUS with that country. And in the current President’s speech, he is often slurring, states that he has no knowledge of actions taken by his cabinet members—-including the recent interruption of weapons aid to Ukraine apparently without his knowledge or consent—-and claims he has no power or influence over deportees he has arranged imprisonment for in third countries unrelated to their nations of origin. Exercise congressional oversight. Concede that the concerns raised by the Biden competency scandal REQUIRES new neurological and physical evaluation of the sitting president by a panel of nonpartisan physicians. Biden has no current position in the White House and no security clearances; President Trump holds both and is acting more erratically and destructively than any official in United States history. Open a congressional investigation into the competency of the sitting president.
