I am extremely dismayed by the dismantling of the USAID. I have personally worked with this agency for many years in developing nations. It does important work, both supporting in-country initiatives and ensuring a positive image of the United States worldwide. This agency has created many positive relationships and has served in an incredibly valuable capacity in humanizing Americans in the eyes of the world. Dismantling it, laying off 10,000 workers, and causing no end of disruption to the financial well-being of agency contractors and employees is absolutely disgusting and I am very disappointed in all of Alaska's Congressional Delegation for not taking decisive action to prevent this.
