The blockade in the Middle East is a global crisis, but the blockade in the U.S. Capitol is a choice made by Republican leadership and it's exacerbating already high energy prices. You can help fix it by passing the Energy Bills Relief Act introduced by Representatives Sean Casten and Mike Levin.
We have over 11GW of clean energy projects currently stalled in federal permitting. Pass the Energy Bills Relief Act to fast-track these low-cost renewable projects through the backlog, rather than allowing gas-fired plants to jump the line. This legislation restores clean energy tax credits for households and small businesses, protects local clean energy projects from federal overreach, and reduces pollution and strain on the electric grid.
We need investment in Advanced Transmission Technologies and interregional lines that allow us to move cheap, domestic wind and solar to where it's needed most. The Act modernizes grid technologies and strengthens energy infrastructure to ensure the power grid can meet rising electricity demand while maintaining dependable service. I support grid modernization that increases capacity on existing lines, not permitting reform that serves as a Trojan horse for oil executives to bypass environmental oversight.
Families are strained by rising electricity bills. This legislation helps them access affordable clean energy that can be deployed quickly. Pass the Energy Bills Relief Act.
