I am writing to urge you to support the immediate impeachment, conviction, and removal of Attorney General Pam Bondi for her conduct during the March 12th House Judiciary Committee hearing on the Jeffrey Epstein files and her mishandling of the Justice Department's legal obligations.
Attorney General Bondi failed to fulfill the Justice Department's mandate under last year's law requiring complete release of Epstein-related documents with limited redactions. The department missed the statutory deadline and then committed egregious errors by releasing names of survivors while redacting names of people who may have committed crimes without proper explanation. When Representative Zoe Lofgren of California confronted Bondi about these overly broad redactions and the department's lost credibility, Bondi deflected rather than addressing the failures.
More troubling, Representative Ted Lieu of California accused Bondi of lying under oath when she claimed there was "no evidence that Donald Trump has committed a crime" related to Epstein. Trump's name appears multiple times in the files, including a message where Epstein said Trump "knew about" the girls, and ex-Palm Beach police chief Michael Reiter told the FBI that Trump said "everyone has known he's been doing this" as Epstein came under investigation. Bondi's categorical denial contradicts the documentary evidence.
Bondi's behavior during the hearing was unbecoming of the nation's chief law enforcement officer. She called Representative Jamie Raskin of Maryland "a washed-up loser lawyer" and refused Representative Pramila Jayapal's request to apologize to Epstein victims present in the room. Most alarmingly, she praised Trump as "the greatest president in American history" during questioning, abandoning the traditional independence the Justice Department must maintain from the White House.
As Representative Thomas Massie of Kentucky, the Republican who sponsored the disclosure law, stated: "This cover-up spans decades, and you are responsible for this portion." Attorney General Bondi is protecting abusers rather than seeking justice for survivors. She must be removed from office immediately.
