Invest in American freedom Safe, clean water is a fundamental freedom we as Americans deserve.
Right now, it feels like that right is on the chopping block and I’m worried.
The pipes, plants, and systems that bring clean water to our communities are crucial, and action is needed now from our elected leaders to make it happen. The right infrastructure keeps our homes, families, and way of life secure, but we are falling behind on the work needed that will ensure our freedom to clean water remains. The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) says if we don't continue to invest in critical water infrastructure in the years to come, businesses and households will bear the brunt of higher costs, and the water quality our communities and our children rely on will suffer. Neglecting our needs is not right.
With 87% of voters concerned about outdated water infrastructure, you have the opportunity to give your constituents what they deserve. Water connects us all and when it’s at risk, so are we. That’s not the America I know, and it’s certainly not one I believe is fair.
Our rights and freedoms as Americans must constantly be defended, and that’s why I write to you today and ask that you defend our most precious shared resource: water. By investing in the infrastructure that delivers it, you’re investing in every family, every business, every community that depends on water to survive. Please do what is fair and defend our right to the clean, safe water that grows our crops, powers our economies, and feeds our families.
