Since taking office on January 20, 2025, President Trump has issued dozens of executive orders and directives, many of which target immigrants, LGBTQ+ people, people of Color, the environment, and more. These actions make clear that these communities are at heightened risk based on policies being executed under the new administration. I am personally very upset as a woman, who fought my career to have equal pay with the men doing the same job as me, and worked hard to implement fair DEI policies. I’m heartbroken about friends and family members in the LGBTQ+ community and immigrants and refugees who who are being cruelly targeted for actions that have not been thought through. I stand in solidarity with these vulnerable communities and urge YOU to protect all those impacted by these executive actions. As Reform Jew, I am guided by my religion to protect the vulnerable: the widow, the orphan, and the stranger. This is realized through our work to heal what is broken in our world and shape a narrative of justice inspired by the voices of our prophets. Democracy as envisioned by our founders supports ALL people having the right to experience peace and wholeness, justice and equity, and belonging and joy I implore you to act strongly and quickly and support your actions.
