Reject Medicaid cuts harming Kentucky's healthcare access

The proposed cuts to Medicaid in the U.S. House plan would have devastating consequences for Kentucky. Terminating health coverage for hundreds of thousands of Kentuckians, including many with disabilities and serious health conditions, would move our state backwards from the progress we've made since expanding Medicaid in 2014. Requiring cumbersome paperwork and work reporting puts unfair bureaucratic burdens on vulnerable populations just to maintain essential healthcare. Copays create financial barriers that discourage seeking preventive care, leading to worsening conditions and higher costs down the line. Rural hospitals already at risk of closure would face further strain. Overall, these cuts threaten jobs, undermine efforts to address crises like opioid addiction, and put lives at risk – the Senate must reject this plan that so severely undermines Kentucky's wellbeing and instead uphold vital healthcare programs like Medicaid.
