According to a report by The Independent, an American mother and her daughters, all U.S. citizens, were subjected to a violent and humiliating raid by federal immigration agents, despite not being the intended targets of the operation. The mother described the experience as denigrating and stated that it traumatized her and her daughters for life. This kind of behavior from a federal agency is unacceptable and demands immediate accountability. The use of force against innocent civilians—especially children—undermines public trust in our institutions and violates the basic principles of justice and due process. I sincerely hope the family sues and receives justice for the trauma and rights violations they’ve endured. I urge you to take immediate action to: 1. Investigate the circumstances surrounding this raid to identify failures in protocol and oversight. 2. Implement safeguards to ensure ICE operations are conducted with accurate intelligence and respect for citizens’ rights. 3. Hold accountable those responsible for authorizing and executing this erroneous raid. 4. Advocate for oversight reforms that prevent similar violations from happening elsewhere in the country. Furthermore, I urge you to stand up to the Trump administration and demand an end to this frankly stupid, Keystone Cops-esque process that prioritizes arbitrary quotas over due process, constitutional rights, and basic competence. These reckless raids are not only dangerous and inhumane—they’re a national embarrassment. We need our elected leaders to show courage, not complicity. As your constituent, I am calling on you to protect the rights and dignity of all people living in the United States.
