Due process matters. We are offshoring our internment camps without even knowing if the accused are guilty. The alleged gang members were already detained, and most were legal residents as Venezuelans with temporary protected status, so there was really no reason to deport them to a country they weren’t even from - El Salvador.
First they came for the Undocumented
And I did not speak out
Because I was not undocumented
Then they came for all immigrants
And I did not speak out
Because I was not an immigrant
Then they came for ethnic US citizens
And I did not speak out
Because I was not an ethnic US citizen
Then they came for the Attorneys
And I did not speak out
Because I was not an attorney
Then they came for me
And there was no one left
To speak out for me
