Vote no on the SAVE Act. Federal law already requires voters to attest to their citizenship under penalty of perjury when registering to vote. This bill solves a problem that doesn't exist while creating real barriers for millions of eligible Americans who simply lack the specific documents it demands.
The SAVE Act would disenfranchise citizens who are legally registered and have every right to vote — seniors, rural residents, low-income voters, and naturalized citizens who may not have easy access to a passport or birth certificate. Redundant documentation requirements don't protect elections. They suppress participation. Non-citizen voting is already illegal and vanishingly rare; this legislation targets legitimate voters, not fraud.
Reject this bill and stand up for every eligible American's right to cast a ballot without jumping through unnecessary hoops.
