History will remember where you stood in our darkest hour. Instead of shielding innocent protesters as was ordered, the Illinois State Police and local Police have chosen to betray their oath and align themselves with federal authorities. The people of Chicago and Illinois are crying out for genuine support—desperate for defenders, not accomplices in injustice. Children and families are being clandestinely hidden from ICE by neighbors who are scared, desperate, and trying to survive—do you not see the haunting echo of Anne Frank’s diaries? In Broadview, the Illinois State Police stand in betrayal, protecting ICE instead of standing with the abused and oppressed. Protesters look to you to stand firm, to stand up for our rights, to be the guardians of justice. Law enforcement at every level must be the shield of the Constitution, the protectors of the people—anything less is a betrayal of everything we hold sacred.
