Vote Yes on S.4814 to Protect Haitian and Syrian TPS Holders

To: Rep. Davidson, Sen. Moreno, Sen. Husted

From: A verified voter in Cincinnati, OH

June 26

Vote yes on S.4814 and preserve Temporary Protected Status for Haitian and Syrian immigrants. The Supreme Court's ruling in Trump v. Miot and Mullin v. Doe stripped lower courts of the ability to review DHS termination decisions, handing the executive branch unchecked power over hundreds of thousands of people who have built their lives here legally. Haitian TPS holders lost their court-issued protections the same day that ruling dropped. Haitian families are vital members of my community in Southwest Ohio. We are talking about mixed-status households where U.S.-citizen children face losing a parent to deportation, and we will not stand by while they are quietly deported. As Patrice Lawrence of the UndocuBlack Network has pointed out, TPS terminations, the birthright citizenship fight, and DACA are all hitting the same families simultaneously. S.4814 is the legislative answer to a court that has abdicated its responsibility. Vote yes.
