Stop Musk’s Latest Harassment of Federal Workers
To: Sen. McCormick
From: A constituent in Oreland, PA
February 23, 2025
Elon Musk’s latest demand—that federal employees submit weekly reports justifying their jobs—is blatant harassment. These public servants do not report to him, and this overreach is nothing more than an intimidation tactic designed to push them out.
The so-called Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) has no authority to impose these arbitrary demands. Musk is treating the federal government like his personal company, using the same coercive tactics he employed at Twitter to force resignations and gut institutions.
I urge you to:
1. Publicly reject Musk’s overreach and affirm that federal employees do not answer to him.
2. Investigate the legality of this demand and its impact on worker protections.
3. Protect public servants from these hostile tactics.
The federal government is not a for-profit corporation and not one of Musk’s business ventures. Please act now to stop this abuse of power. The country is waiting and hoping you and your GOP colleagues will FINALLY say "enough is enough." These are hard-working people with families, not pariahs on our federal funds. What musk is doing is unconscionable, and Americans know it. More than half disapprove of Musk and that percentage is going up. More and more disapprove of Trump’s actions as well. Please, Senator McCormick, I appeal to your character as a West Point graduate. You know this isn’t right. Your colleagues know this isn’t right. Take a stand and be brave.
