I am writing to express my grave concerns regarding the Supreme Court's recent decision to grant former President Donald Trump immunity from prosecution for actions taken while in office. This 6-3 ruling, decided by the court's conservative majority, including the three justices appointed by Trump, represents a significant departure from over two centuries of legal precedent. This ruling, issued just four months before a crucial presidential election, has profound implications for the rule of law and the accountability of public officials. For the first time in our nation's history, a president is shielded from criminal prosecution for actions taken under the guise of official duties, even if those actions potentially violate criminal law. This decision critically injures our democracy and illustrates both the naked corruption of the SCOTUS but also it's lack of foresight. Please vote to remove the nine SCOTUS judges, expand the court so that the ruling can be overturned, or amend the constitution to clarify that the president is not immune to criminal law.
