Reverse policies limiting scientific transparency and public health data

To: Rep. Landsman, Sen. Husted, Sen. Moreno

From: A constituent in Cincinnati, OH

February 5

As a pediatric dietitian, I must express the crucial importance of maintaining access to evidence-based public health data and research. The administration's actions to restrict scientific communication and remove information from federal websites pose a severe threat to my ability to provide accurate, up-to-date care for children and families. Without unimpeded access to authoritative sources like the CDC and NIH, I cannot reliably counsel parents on topics like nutrition, disease prevention, and environmental exposures that impact child health. Removing this information handicaps healthcare providers and jeopardizes our capacity to safeguard the wellbeing of vulnerable young patients. I strongly urge the reversal of policies that limit transparency and open scientific exchange. Maintaining scientific integrity is pivotal for protecting children's health and ensuring pediatric care aligns with the latest research.
