Reject partisan Patel for FBI director nomination

I urge you to vote against confirming Kash Patel as the next FBI director. Patel lacks the experience, temperament and judgment necessary to lead such a critical law enforcement agency. His history of pushing conspiracy theories, promoting an "enemies list," and vowing retaliation against perceived political opponents raises serious concerns about his ability to uphold the FBI's independence and commitment to non-partisan investigations. Patel's comments about seeking retribution against media outlets and individuals involved in the 2020 election are especially alarming and antithetical to American democratic values. His refusal to clearly state that President Biden legitimately won the 2020 election only further undermines trust in his objectivity. The FBI director must be someone who respects the rule of law and democratic processes, not an ideologue fixated on grievances against the "deep state." Moreover, allegations that Patel was personally directing firings at the FBI before even being confirmed illustrate a willingness to overstep boundaries and potentially illegal actions. If true, this alleged misconduct is disqualifying. The American people deserve an FBI leader of unimpeachable integrity who will allow the bureau's professionals to do their jobs free from political interference. Putting a highly partisan figure like Patel in charge of the FBI threatens to destroy decades of hard-won public faith in the bureau as an apolitical institution. His confirmation would inevitably sow further divisions and damage the FBI's credibility at a time when we desperately need to restore trust in our institutions. I strongly urge you to reject this troubling nomination and demand a director nominee committed to upholding the FBI's independence and long-standing traditions.
