I am writing today to urge you to block Trump's nomination of Pete Hegseth for Secretary of Defense. Hegseth had allegations of sexual assault leveled against him in 2017, in which he settled out of court. Over more than a decade, Hegseth has committed several recorded instances of drunken misconduct and lewd behavior attributed to excessive alcohol consumption. Hegseth denies ever having a problem with his drinking, proving he has no problem with lying to get what he wants. As Senator Blumenthal stated, "Much as we might be sympathetic to people with continuing alcohol problems, they shouldn't be at the top of our national security structure." Please, do not let a lying, sexually abusive alcoholic be the next head of the Department of Defense. Block Pete Hegseth's nomination and loudly denounce his repulsive actions. Thank you.
