An Open Letter
To: Rep. Begich
From: A verified voter in Anchorage, AK
November 14
I’m writing to ask a simple question: If you truly support releasing the Epstein files, why did you refuse to sign the discharge petition that would force a vote?
Your public statements say you want transparency, yet you insist the decision should be left to President Trump or his appointees, despite Trump’s well-known ties to Epstein. Putting him in charge of what gets released all but guarantees that any records involving him will stay hidden.
Survivors deserve more than vague assurances about “directing the administration” or releasing only what officials choose. They deserve action. Signing the petition is the one concrete step Congress can take right now.
So again: If you support public release of the files, why not use the tool available to you?
Alaskans deserve a direct answer; not more political deflection.
