Block the EPA's repeal of greenhouse gas emission limits on coal and gas-fired power plants. Power plants are already the nation's second largest source of carbon dioxide emissions, and stripping away these protections means more asthma attacks, more hospital visits, more missed school and work days for families across the country.
The Trump administration is touting cost savings, but those numbers represent money that large industrial emitters will no longer have to spend on reducing their pollution. That is not savings for Americans. It is a transfer of costs onto us, through higher health care bills, higher insurance premiums, and the mounting damage from intensifying heat waves, wildfires, and floods.
Decades of clean air statutes and multiple Supreme Court rulings confirm that the EPA has a legal responsibility to limit dangerous pollution. Congress must step up and reinforce that responsibility. Do not let this rollback stand.
