Support legislation to protect NJ from ICE

To: Assembly Member Scharfenberger, Assembly Member Flynn, Sen. O'Scanlon

From: A constituent in Atlantic Highlands, NJ

January 8

As we see increasingly violent crackdowns tied to immigration enforcement it is more important than ever that we come together to keep our neighbors safe. I am writing to ask you to support three bills currently being considered - Bills A6310, A6309, and A6308 - which will provide critical protections for New Jersey residents against federal immigration enforcement. I respectfully ask you to prioritize this legislation for the protection of New Jerseyans. These bills will ensure due process for all NJ residents and will limit law enforcement's collaboration with ICE. They will also protect the data of NJ residents and prevent the misuse of personal information. And finally, these bills seek to keep ICE out of schools, hospitals, shelters, and other essential services so New Jerseyans don't need to be afraid to seek help. Please use your voice to help to make New Jersey a place where people from all backgrounds can feel safe to live their lives without fear.
