I am furious that Congress has failed to fund public media. This is not a budgetary oversight—it is an act of sabotage against one of the last remaining institutions committed to non-commercial, nonpartisan public service in this country.
Public media provides millions of Americans with access to fact-based journalism, educational programming, and cultural content that is not driven by profit motives or corporate influence. Defunding it will devastate rural communities, underserved populations, and anyone who depends on local NPR and PBS stations for honest reporting and educational resources.
This decision sends a chilling message: that facts, equity, and cultural literacy are no longer priorities.
If Congress can find billions for defense contractors, fossil fuel subsidies, and bloated corporate giveaways, it can damn well find a fraction of that to support public broadcasting. Failure to do so undermines the civic fabric of this country and betrays the public you were elected to serve.
Restore funding for public media. And stop pretending this isn’t a calculated political move with dangerous consequences.
