I am writing to you today as a constituent to express my absolute outrage and to demand immediate action regarding President Trump’s recent indictment of Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell. This vindictive action is not merely a breach of norms; it is a direct assault on the economic stability of our nation and a flagrant abuse of power that meets the definition of a High Crime and Misdemeanor. The Federal Reserve was designed to be independent of political pressure for a reason: to make decisions based on economic data, not to serve the whims of the Executive Branch. By weaponizing the Department of Justice to indict a public servant simply for doing his job—and for refusing to bend the knee to political pressure—the President has crossed a red line that threatens the rule of law. This is the behavior of an authoritarian, not a democratically elected leader. It sets a dangerous precedent that no institution is safe from retaliation if it fails to demonstrate total loyalty to the President. We cannot wait for the damage to become irreversible. I demand that you publicly condemn this action immediately and introduce or support articles of impeachment against Donald Trump for abuse of power and obstruction of justice. History is watching.
