President Trump is in criminal contempt
To: Rep. Dean
From: A constituent in Norristown, PA
April 16
On April 16, 2025, US District Judge James Boasberg wrote "The Court ultimately determines that the Government's actions on that day demonstrate a willful disregard for its Order, sufficient for the Court to conclude that probable cause exists to find the Government in criminal contempt."
This is a judge saying that the Trump Administration has committed a crime. The Supreme Court has already made it clear that the President cannot be held accountable by the means to which the rest of American citizens are bound. The ONLY check against the president, according to the current reading of our Constitution, is Congress. That makes it especially important for Congress to act when Presidential power is being abused. This is such a time.
Articles of impeachment must be drawn against President Trump for his crimes. Impeachment is the only thing that can prevent this runaway executive branch from descending fully into tyranny.
If you know you don't have the votes, draft the articles of impeachment anyway. Show them to the press and talk about them until it's a national conversation. If nothing else, it will be a message to the executive branch that there are limits to its power. We must protect our Constitution and defend our nation.
