Please DO NOT allow Republicans to slip in legislation that would prohibit states from regulating AI. We desperately need to regulate this new technology. For one thing it gobbles up unbelievable amounts of energy and water. For another, the deep fakes and child porn it enables is destructive to our entire society. Healthy societies and businesses depend on good regulations to protect the public. Allowing the rapacious use of our natural resources and the destruction of discernible truth will lead to the destruction of our society.
