I need you to support impeachment proceedings under Article II, Section 4 of the Constitution to remove this administration from power.
The Pentagon's January 2026 meeting with Cardinal Christophe Pierre crossed a line that cannot be uncrossed. Undersecretary of Defense Elbridge Colby told the Vatican's U.S. representative that "The United States has the military power to do whatever it wants in the world. The Catholic Church had better take its side." A U.S. official at that meeting referenced the Avignon papacy, when the French monarchy attacked Pope Boniface VIII and forced the Catholic Church into submission. The Vatican interpreted this as a threat to use military force against the Holy See.
This is not diplomacy. This is extortion backed by military threats against a sovereign state and the world's 1.4 billion Catholics. Pope Leo XIV cancelled his U.S. visit and rejected the White House's invitation for America's 250th anniversary because the Vatican feared for his safety.
Threatening religious leaders with military force to silence criticism is the behavior of authoritarian regimes, not democratic republics. The Constitution provides a remedy for high crimes and misdemeanors. Use it.
