During this legislative session, Jake Hoffman has proposed mandating that all 15 counties station ICE agents at our polling locations to solve a problem that does not exist—-undocumented immigrants voting in Arizona elections.
Reject this proposal for what it is: an attempt to intimidate Arizona’s lawful voters with armed and masked agents who have been behaving recklessly in jurisdictions across the country and have been responsible for the deaths and injuries of both US citizens and lawful residents.
There is no evidence that any significant or widespread fraud exists in our elections, despite millions of dollars sent on a wild goose chase with Republican allies the “Cyber Ninjas” who combed through our ballots, our elections materials, and our machinery at considerable expense to Arizona taxpayers. The unrelenting campaign to cast Arizona and other state elections as fraudulent due to Republican losses reflects poor sportsmanship we wouldn’t tolerate in peewee baseball but have somehow embraced in national politics and leadership. It is pathetic, disgraceful, and dangerous.
Jake Hoffman’s interest in stationing ICE at Arizona polls is authoritarian and aims only to suppress legitimate votes. Reject it as fundamentally unAmerican.
