The corrupt Trump administration is using the Department of Justice to try and erase the Presidential Records Act. Trump had the DOJ write him a 52 page memo advising him that he does not have to comply with the act because it’s unconstitutional and invalid because it infringes on the president’s executive powers. That is complete nonsense. In the nearly 50 years that the Presidential Records Act has been on the books, no court has found it to be unconstitutional. These records belong to the people, who you are supposed to be representing. We the people demand that you support the lawsuit that has been filed by the American Historical Association and American oversight that challenges the corrupt DOJ’s interpretation of the law. We expect you to enforce the Presidential Records Act. Trump already defied the act at the end of his first term by taking records to his Mara Lago residence. Do your job and stop him from trying to ignore the act again.
