I write today to demand immediate transparency regarding reports that the FBI may be spending taxpayer money to bring in UFC fighters to train federal agents. If this is accurate, the American people deserve clear answers: How much money is being spent on this program? Who approved it? What legitimate law enforcement purpose does it serve? The FBI is one of the most serious investigative agencies in the world. Its mission is to combat terrorism, organized crime, cyber threats, and public corruption. Turning federal training programs into spectacle or promotional events is not only inappropriate—it is an irresponsible use of public funds. Professional fighters are entertainers and athletes. They are not substitutes for experienced law enforcement trainers, constitutional policing experts, or national security professionals. Taxpayer dollars should be funding rigorous investigative training, modern forensic capabilities, and counter-terrorism readiness—not publicity stunts. At a time when Americans are being told to accept budget cuts, rising costs, and fiscal restraint, it is unacceptable for government resources to be spent on something that appears more like a marketing exercise than legitimate federal training. Congress has a responsibility to conduct oversight of federal agencies and ensure that every taxpayer dollar is spent responsibly. I urge you to immediately request full documentation of this program, including its cost, contracts, justification, and approval process. The public deserves accountability, not gimmicks.
