Hold public oversight hearings into ICE detention conditions and demand the closure of Delaney Hall and Dilley. These facilities have documented records of abuse, and Congress has both the authority and the obligation to act.
At Delaney Hall in Newark, run by the for-profit GEO Group, over 300 detainees went on hunger strike to protest spoiled food, physical abuse, and inadequate medical care. Elected officials have been denied access to inspect the facility. At Dilley in Texas, families report no clean water, medical neglect, and separation — one family was imprisoned for 10 months before a federal judge ordered their release. More than 6,300 children have been detained since 2025, some as young as 2 months old. Only 3% of ICE detainees have a violent felony conviction. These are not dangerous criminals — they are families and children.
ICE has also stopped reporting deaths that occur within 30 days of release, gutting accountability at the exact moment abuses are spiking. Oppose the expansion of private for-profit detention, and demand the immediate release of children, pregnant people, elderly individuals, and anyone with serious medical needs. This is a human rights crisis happening on American soil, and it requires your direct intervention now.
