Investigate the pattern of violence carried out by federal immigration agents and demand immediate accountability for the harm being done to people in our communities. Since January 2025, ICE agents have shot at least 30 people, killing nine and injuring 13 others, according to CBS News. Four of those killed were U.S. citizens, including Renee Good, Alex Pretti, Jonah Neal, and Ruben Ray Martinez.
This is not isolated. In New York City's Marble Hill neighborhood, an ICE agent fired seven rounds into a car with a 5-year-old child in the back seat. In Minneapolis, an officer was later charged with lying to the FBI about being attacked. In Santa Maria, a non-verbal high school student with special needs was tackled, restrained, and left with a broken wrist after agents apprehended him for matching someone else's description. DHS policy requires deadly force only when there is reasonable belief of imminent threat. These cases raise serious questions about whether that standard is being met.
Tom Homan has conceded that "mistakes have been made." Mistakes that break a child's wrist, put bullets in bystanders, and kill U.S. citizens are not acceptable operational margins. Push for a full, independent investigation into ICE use-of-force incidents and enforceable reforms before more people are killed.
