I’m a transgender constituent of yours. This month following the election, I am the most scared I have ever been in my life. Every transgender person I know is feeling the same way. Project 2025 opens with a plan to declare everyone like me to be inherently “pornographic” and then declare “pornographers” to be sex offenders. I haven’t even had the courage to look up what happens if you’re declared a sex offender when you have a child yourself. The bill banning transgender people from using airport bathrooms would keep me from being able to go to a company conference this year, or see family at the holidays (the family that still speaks to me after coming out as trans). Sports are a tool they’re trying to use to “prove” a point they can leverage to ban our lives more generally. Please, please act to protect trans Americans.
