I am writing to urge you to support H.R. 4405, the Epstein Files Transparency Act, and demand the full release of all Jeffrey Epstein case files. Representatives Thomas Massie and Ro Khanna have filed a discharge petition to force a vote on this critical legislation, and I ask that you sign this petition and advocate for its passage.
Jeffrey Epstein was convicted on federal child sex trafficking charges in 2019 before dying in his jail cell while awaiting sentencing. Despite the severity of these crimes and the public interest in ensuring justice, the administration has continuously blocked the release of evidence and documents related to this case. This obstruction shields potential perpetrators from accountability and erodes public trust in our justice system.
During the 2024 campaign, there were promises to release the Epstein client list, yet the Department of Justice has declined to release this evidence. This contradiction between campaign promises and administrative action demonstrates a troubling lack of transparency. The American people deserve to know that all legally mandated documents have been disclosed and that no one is above the law, regardless of wealth, power, or political connections.
The continued blockade of these files raises serious questions about what is being hidden and why. Full disclosure is essential not only for the victims who deserve justice, but for the public to have confidence that our legal system operates with integrity. Without transparency, conspiracy theories flourish and faith in government institutions deteriorates further.
I am asking you to take concrete action by supporting H.R. 4405, signing the discharge petition if you have not already done so, and publicly calling for the Department of Justice to release all Epstein case files immediately. Your constituents need to see that you prioritize transparency and accountability over protecting the powerful. This is a matter of basic justice and restoring public trust in our institutions.
