Mobilize Funding Now to Prevent the Forecasted 2027 El Niño Famine

Have you mobilized the money needed for the 2027 El Niño lean seasons and hunger? The FAO and WFP have asked for $202 million to protect 8.8 million people across 22 countries — before famine forms, not after. Only $35 million of that is covered. Southern Africa plants its single annual maize crop in December, directly into the forecast peak of this El Niño. That money has to move before then. This is not a surprise. NOAA, FEWS NET, and the WFP have all published exactly where the hunger will land and when. Sudan has already crossed from forecast into reality — the June rains failed, the Nile hit its lowest August level in living memory, and 19 million people there were already short of food before this season collapsed. The WFP estimates 49 million additional people will be pushed into acute hunger. Cash and pre-positioned food released on a forecast costs a fraction of emergency aid and saves lives that late aid cannot reach. The full case is documented here: https://open.substack.com/pub/markroberts995/p/hunger-foretold-the-coming-2027-hunger Only action by you and everyone around you will prevent foreseeable famines from killing tens of thousands of innocent men, women, and children in countries far from the causes of climate change. Every one of these deaths is still preventable. Act before December.
