An Open Letter

To: Sen. Lee, Sen. Curtis, Rep. Kennedy

From: A constituent in Holladay, UT

January 19

Inside the Whipple federal building in Minnesota, where ICE detentions are concentrated, non-citizen detainees are reportedly being denied access to legal representation. The US Constitution applies to anyone on US soil, citizen or not, and this is DEEPLY unconstitutional behavior. All detained individuals in the United States are guaranteed legal representation, and if constitutional rights are being so flagrantly discarded by this administration's armed enforcers, then I don't know where that leaves us if Congress won't take a stand. Have you no respect for our Constitution? Have you sold your soul to the devil for a few fleeting moments of political power? This Administration will lose power, as all fascist regimes do eventually, and the collaborators will be remembered forever as the ones who made the desecration of our Constitution possible by their failure to act. I call on Congress to stand up to this administration, defend our constitutional rights, and stop the violations currently happening every day in Minnesota.
