An Open Letter
To: Sen. Blackburn
From: A constituent in Hermitage, TN
June 20
Senator Blackburn, you don't owe Donald Trump your loyalty. You owe it to the people of Tennessee—the farmers who lost markets in his trade wars, the factory workers he promised jobs he never delivered, the military families whose housing funds built his fence, the seniors who paid taxes while he paid $750.
You told them he was a Christian man of principle. The Access Hollywood tape didn't change your mind. The Stormy Daniels hush money didn't change your mind. The 26 sexual misconduct allegations didn't change your mind. The two impeachments didn't change your mind. The 91 felony charges haven't changed your mind.
At what point does a Tennessee voter conclude that your judgment can't be trusted? At what point do they realize you've invested so much in this man that you can never admit you were wrong—not to them, not to yourself?
Tennesseans are practical people. They know a bad investment when they see one. They know when someone's selling them snake oil. They deserve a senator who works for them, not for the ego of a man who tried to overturn an election because he couldn't handle losing.
This is the man you worship, Senator. These are the facts you can't spin away. And Tennessee is watching to see if you have the courage to admit what you should have seen years ago—or if you'll keep asking them to follow you down a path you know leads nowhere good.
**The voters of Tennessee deserve better than your broken judgment. They deserve the truth you still refuse to speak.
