Major companies including Discord, Apple, Microsoft, & more are attempting to put in place age verification requirements in order to use goods and services already paid for by the people. Companies are attempting massive overreach to require facial scans or physical ID to access the Internet. This is NOT okay. Age verification does nothing but put children & the vulnerable at further risk. Children’s safety is the responsibility of the parents, not tech companies. Children are harmed when their legal names, faces, birthdates, & more are collected by companies — only to be leaked in massive data breaches. The Epstein files have shown that we the people cannot trust these men with the safety or likenesses of our children. As adults, this gives these companies access to information that previously was only available to trusted institutions like one’s employer, bank, or doctor. The Trump regime has also demanded major corporations hand over identifying information of individuals or groups criticizing the deplorable doings of ICE. This is mass surveillance, and it infringes upon your constituents’ rights to liberty, the pursuit of happiness, free speech, privacy, & personal property. You MUST fight back, & urge your fellow congresspeople to do the same. Block these actions. Ban age verification. Parents have the right to parent their own children, not companies.
