Stop RFK Jr. from introducing illegal registries that violate HIPAA

To: Sen. Cruz, Sen. Cornyn, Rep. Doggett

From: A constituent in Austin, TX

April 25, 2025

I’m writing to urge you to introduce legislation to prevent the proposed registries proposed by HHS leader RFK Jr. and to propose the removal of RFK Jr. from the head of HHS as this is such a clear indicator of his inability to protect Americans in this crucial role. His proposals to create databases of women’s periods and people diagnosed with autism are a direct violation of HIPAA laws and are signifiers of the beginning of genocide. In every major genocide like the one in Rwanda or of course the infamous Holocaust, registries of people’s statuses based on arbitrary categories like race, sexual orientation, or in this case now mental disability were markers used to target and harm individuals. This is an egregious act that is both illegal due to HIPAA *and* a clear precursor to potential violations on human rights. We must protect our most vulnerable populations, and we must stop RFK Jr. from marking human beings for dehumanization and potential harm. I must urge you again to please introduce legislation to stop this illegal abuse of power from happening and to remove this unqualified individual from his current role. Thank you for your time.
