Invoke the 25th Amendment Based on Observed Cognitive Decline

To: Sen. Cornyn, Rep. De La Cruz, Sen. Cruz

I am writing to urge you to support invoking the 25th Amendment based on credible concerns about cognitive decline that may be affecting the President's ability to discharge the duties of office. Clinical psychologists Dr. Harry Segal and Dr. John Gartner, hosts of the podcast 'Shrinking Trump,' have identified what they describe as a telltale sign of frontotemporal dementia in Donald Trump, specifically a wide-based gait where one leg swings in a semicircle. This gait pattern is recognized by neuropsychologists as a key indicator of FTD, a neurodegenerative disorder affecting the brain's frontal and temporal lobes. The psychologists have documented what they characterize as deteriorating psychomotor functioning, including verbal slips, language struggles, and motor difficulties consistent with dementia progression. Frontotemporal dementia affects personality, social behavior, language, and judgment. Symptoms include socially inappropriate behavior, loss of empathy, poor judgment, impulsivity, difficulty finding words, and movement problems including poor balance. Unlike Alzheimer's disease, FTD can appear between ages 40 and 65, though it occurs later in some cases. The 25th Amendment exists precisely for situations where a president may be unable to fulfill the responsibilities of office due to physical or mental incapacity. Given that the presidency requires sound judgment, clear communication, and the ability to make critical decisions affecting national security and the welfare of millions of Americans, any credible indication of cognitive decline warrants immediate evaluation by medical professionals and consideration of constitutional remedies. I recognize the gravity of this request, but the stakes are too high to ignore observable signs that trained mental health professionals have identified as consistent with a serious neurodegenerative condition. The American people deserve a president who is fully capable of executing the duties of the office. I urge you to take these concerns seriously and support appropriate action to ensure the continuity of competent leadership.
