I write to you today with deep urgency and desperation. Today the internet is filled with endless videos of children being traumatized by the civil offense of immigration. Today I watched a foster mother have to buckle the car seat in an unmarked ICE vehicle crying because there was nothing she could do.
This is not just about policy, budgets, or deficits—this is about humanity. Every day, families are being torn apart, and children are being subjected to trauma that no child should ever endure. We have seen the devastating impact of these enforcement actions in Los Angeles, and Arizona is not far behind.
I beg you—please, do something. These children deserve protection, stability, and compassion. No immigration status should ever justify forcibly removing a toddler from their home or separating them from the only caregivers they know. This is a crisis that demands more than rhetoric or delayed action. It requires leadership, courage, and a commitment to justice.
I implore you to advocate for policies that prioritize child welfare over enforcement—to ensure no more families are torn apart, no more children are left abandoned, and no more suffering goes ignored. We need immediate protections, legal safeguards, and humanitarian relief.
These are human beings, not statistics. And history will remember whether we stood up or stood by.
Please, Congressman, hear our voices and take bold action to ensure no child faces this cruelty again. I am counting on you to act, not tomorrow, but today.
