Protect the CFPB and civil servants! The American government is not a business.

To: Sen. Hyde-Smith, Rep. Ezell, Sen. Wicker

From: A constituent in Ocean Springs, MS

The CFPB provides financial protection for consumers. What evidence is there to suggest it’s wasteful? DOGE, on the other hand, has done nothing but dismantle lawful entities established by Congress, intimidated civil servants, and created a major imbalance in power within our government. CFPB, however, has saved American consumers money. If the administration is wanting to root out waste, why target the low level federal workers who are just doing their jobs? That’s because this administration does not care about what the people want. Fringe groups, who don’t understand history, the importance of checks and balances, or why these federal agencies are necessary, seem to be driving this administration’s overreach in executive power. Protect the constitution. You work for the people, not the other way around, and no one in the government works for Elon Musk. He is not an elected official, hasn’t been vetted properly for the appropriate security clearances, and does not care about you or anyone. He cares about money and his own business ventures. Protect the CFPB.
