The proposal to sell off over 250 million acres of public lands managed by the Bureau of Land Management and Forest Service is a blatant violation of the public trust. These lands belong to the American people, not the federal government. They are natural treasures that must be protected for future generations to enjoy. This short-sighted plan would jeopardize vital wildlife habitats, iconic landscapes, and beloved recreation areas across 11 western states. It threatens the very cultural and natural heritage that defines the American West. Liquidating these lands to fund partisan agendas is an unacceptable breach of responsibility. Moreover, opening such vast acreages to potential sale sets a dangerous precedent that Congress can simply dispose of public lands on a whim. This undermines decades of bipartisan commitment to conservation and sustainable public lands management. The majority of Americans adamantly oppose selling off public lands - our collective birthright must not be auctioned away behind closed doors. I urge you to reject this destructive provision and any attempts to enable wholesale privatization of America's public lands. These irreplaceable natural resources were entrusted to the federal government to steward on behalf of all citizens. Defend this public trust and stop this ill-conceived fire sale of our treasured landscapes.
