I urge you to take immediate action to secure a permanent and lasting ceasefire in Gaza. The ongoing violence has resulted in unacceptable civilian casualties, with over 40,000 Palestinians killed and nearly 93,000 wounded according to the Gaza Ministry of Health. Israel's continued military assault and occupation are fueling this humanitarian crisis. The US must stop enabling this violence by halting arms transfers to Israel, which merely perpetuates the cycle of death and destruction. As a global leader, the US has a moral obligation to prioritize human rights and work towards a just and peaceful resolution to this conflict that upholds the dignity and security of all people. A ceasefire and an end to military support for Israel's occupying forces are critical first steps.
