The Department of Education plays a crucial role in ensuring equal access to quality education for all students across the nation. Efforts to abolish or undermine this vital agency would have devastating consequences, particularly for underprivileged communities and students with disabilities who rely on federal programs and funding. Eliminating the Department would effectively dismantle key initiatives like Title I, which provides financial assistance to high-poverty schools, and the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), which protects the rights of students with special needs.
