Even though the U.S. Senate vote on HJ Res 140 has been delayed, I’m writing to ask that if/when this ever comes up for a vote that you will vote to protect the Boundary Waters from toxic copper mining.
Rep Pete Stauber's attempt to use the Congressional Review Act (CRA) to overturn the 20-year mining ban protecting the Boundary Waters watershed from toxic copper mining must not be allowed to pass. This bill would not only eliminate current protections but also prevent future administrations from using the same safeguards on the Boundary Waters. We need to protect our air, water, and land from pollution and destruction - for ourselves and all future generations.
