Oppose "The One Big Beautiful Bill Act" - Protect Public Lands & Vital Programs
To: Rep. Mills, Sen. Moody, Sen. Scott
From: A constituent in Debary, FL
June 23, 2025
I am writing to express my strong opposition to "The One Big Beautiful Bill Act" and urge you to vote against its passage. I am deeply troubled by several aspects of this proposed legislation, particularly the potential for selling off public lands and the cuts to vital programs.
The thought of selling off our cherished public lands is alarming. These lands represent a fundamental part of our national heritage, providing essential spaces for recreation, wildlife habitats, and critical natural resources. They belong to all Americans and should be protected for current and future generations, not privatized for short-term gain. Such a move would have irreversible negative consequences for our environment, economy, and quality of life.
Furthermore, I am gravely concerned about the proposed cuts to vital programs that serve the needs of our communities. [Here, you can add a specific program or two that you feel strongly about, e.g., "Programs like [Name of Program] provide crucial support for [explain what the program does and who it helps, e.g., healthcare for seniors, education for children, environmental protection, etc.]. These are not simply line items in a budget; they are lifelines for many of your constituents."]. Cutting these essential services would disproportionately harm vulnerable populations and undermine the well-being of our society.
While I understand the stated goals of tax cuts and deficit reduction, I believe these should not come at the expense of our natural resources and the safety net that supports our citizens. A truly "beautiful" bill would prioritize the long-term health and prosperity of our nation, which includes safeguarding our public lands and investing in programs that uplift our communities.
I urge you to consider the far-reaching implications of this bill and to stand with your constituents by opposing its passage. I believe a different approach is needed, one that seeks sustainable solutions without sacrificing our shared natural heritage or the well-being of our people.
Thank you for your time and consideration of this critical matter. I look forward to hearing your stance on this bill and what actions you will take to protect our public lands and vital programs.
