I am writing to express my strong opposition to House Bill 1893. 2536, and 2075. I urge you to vote against this bill if it comes before you. This legislation is deeply troubling because it targets a small and vulnerable group of people simply for existing. Laws that restrict restroom access based on biological sex place transgender individuals in dangerous and humiliating situations when they are just trying to go about their daily lives. No one should have to fear harassment, confrontation, or harm for using a restroom. Beyond the personal harm it could cause, this bill represents government overreach into an area that should not require legislation. The government should not be creating laws that single out people because they are transgender. Instead, lawmakers should focus their time and energy on issues that affect everyone in our communities—such as economic stability, healthcare, infrastructure, and education. Bills like this do not solve real problems. They only create fear, confusion, and division. They also place unnecessary burdens on schools, public institutions, and businesses that will be forced to enforce policies that may endanger or discriminate against members of their communities. Missouri should be a place where people are treated with dignity and respect. Passing laws that target a small minority sends the wrong message about the kind of state we want to be. For these reasons, I strongly encourage you to oppose House Bill 2075 and vote against it if given the opportunity. Thank you for your time.
