Please become a co-sponsor of S. 3822, the “Break Up Big Medicine Act,” introduced by Senator Warren and Senator Hawley. This bill would ban vertical integration - prohibiting parent companies from owning insurers or PBMs and providers or management services organizations simultaneously. This is a much needed law to break up corporate healthcare monopolies and stop self-dealing by for-profit companies. As a physician myself, in addition to being a patient and the caregiver of an elderly parent, I have seen from all angles how vertical integration drives up costs for patients, constrains patient and physician choices, and interferes with the practice of medicine. We must put an end to this and break up the big business of health insurance. This bill is a start. Please become a co-sponsor of S. 3822.
