I am writing to express my profound dismay over the administration’s recent maneuvers regarding Ukraine, including the dangerous pivot toward importing Russian diesel and the deliberate hobbling of allied support. Squeezing a sovereign democracy to score short-term political points at home does not represent real diplomacy; it represents an active abandonment of our democratic allies on the world stage.
When we look the other way while strategic security architecture crumbles and critical military and intelligence cooperation is restricted, we invite greater aggression from authoritarian regimes. History will judge harshly those who stood by while a sovereign European nation was undermined from within and starved of the tools it needs to defend its borders.
As my elected official, you have a constitutional duty to check this erratic foreign policy course. I urge you to speak out publicly against these concessions to Moscow, reject any deals that legitimize Russian aggression, and vote to restore robust, unwavering support for Ukraine and our NATO partners. Our credibility as a global leader depends entirely on keeping our word to those fighting for their freedom.
