What will we do when Illinois is assaulted like California?

I am writing to you as a constituent in the wake of federal agents' assault on Sen. Padilla after he confronted the DHS secretary. This incident, and the continuing escalation of the federal government against its citizens in LA, is a red line. We know that Illinois is next in the crosshairs after California -- I want to know what actions you will take to protect us from similar actions here. We cannot allow our rights to be trampled in this way, and I worry that we will see the IL National Guard deployed in the same way. Frankly, I am also worried the Chicago PD will go along with ICE and federal authorities and abuse our citizens as well, regardless of our mayor's opinion. We must prepare in Illinois for what we will do if this happens here -- because there is every indication it will.
